Why MFL was made: My brothers and I made this movie in May
2001 with nothing but a cheap hand held Sony camera. It started
as a joke and the end result was this. (Yes, Micro did his own
stunts)
The story behind the movie : My 3 year old miniature
dachshund "Micro" is incredibly smart, when everyone is sleeping he
gets into everything from our backpacks, counters and sadly even
onto the kitchen table. On one occasion he ate half a box of Fruit Loops. My brothers and I
always joked around about the incident and talked about the things he did.. Later, we made this film.
Working with Micro : Making this movie was not easy because we
couldn't communicate with Micro and ask him to do the things we
wanted from him, such as walk a certain direction or jump onto a chair at a
given moment. Although he is very smart and well trained we did have
some trouble in various scenes.. We used franks (weenies) as
rewards/incentives to do what we wanted him to do. It took 5 1/2
franks to make this film.
Where did you get the music from? : The music is from
the movie soundtrack "The
Rock" (Track 1) by Hans Zimmer.
Why is it
incomplete ? : We never finished the film because as I said before
it was only for fun, we talked about ideas for finishing it, even shot
some footage but we already had our laughs and lost interest. This film
was shot and edited in 4 hours in May 2001.
